14 November 2014 – South Sudan ‘Centre for Human, Pastoral and Spiritual Formation, Peace Building and Trauma Healing’, located in Kit, Juba area, has started its preliminary works. A borehole has been drilled and water has been found in plenty.
Over the coming weeks the plot of the Centre will be fenced up. Work to clear bush around is also on the way.
This Centre for human, pastoral, spiritual formation, peace building and trauma healing will be the first of its kind in the whole of South Sudan and is meant to be a facility for training for the Church in South Sudan that could serve also as a retreat house.
It is an initiative of the Religious Superiors’ Association of South Sudan (RSASS) with the full support of South Sudan Bishops Conference.
On 11 October 2014 the Archbishop of Juba, Paulino Lukudu Loro, officially launched the Centre by blessing the building site and laying the foundation stone.
RSASS coordination is pleased to have initiated some building activities in the premises. Br. Hans Eigner, the engineer responsible for the construction says donors are still very much needed to support this important enterprise for the South Sudanese Church and society.
For those willing to support, RSASS has opened a bank account at Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB): Bank South Sudan Limited, P.O. Box 47 Juba.
