HAPPY EASTER TO ALL
Dear Confreres in South Sudan,
We accompany the situation of the country and of our confreres. We are very sorry for all the suffering and destruction that is going through the lives of the people. We accompany you all with our prayers and fraternal care.
With the words of the Apocalypse and Pope Francis in Evangelii Gaudium I wish you all a holy journey towards Easter. May we discover the presence of the Risen Lord in our lives.
“And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying: “Look! The residence of God is among human beings. He will live among them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death will not exist anymore — or mourning, or crying, or pain, for the former things have ceased to exist.” And the one seated on the throne said: “Look! I am making all things new!” Then he said to me, “Write it down, because these words are reliable and true.” (Rev. 21:3-5)
“Christ’s resurrection is not an event of the past; it contains a vital power which has permeated this world. Where all seems to be dead, signs of the resurrection suddenly spring up. It is an irresistible force. Often it seems that God does not exist: all around us we see persistent injustice, evil, indifference and cruelty. But it is also true that in the midst of darkness something new always springs to life and sooner or later produces fruit. On razed land life breaks through, stubbornly yet invincibly. However dark things are, goodness always re-emerges and spreads. Each day in our world beauty is born anew, it rises transformed through the storms of history. Values always tend to reappear under new guises, and human beings have arisen time after time from situations that seemed doomed. Such is the power of the resurrection, and all who evangelize are instruments of that power”. (EG, 276)
