12 November 2014 – The month of November is traditionally a time for Christians worldwide to make memory of all saints and also to remember their deceased. In fact, the Church dedicates two special days, 1 November for all saints and 2 November for the faithful departed, as particular days of prayer.

The Comboni Missionaries in South Sudan have been celebrating the event of 150 years of the Plan for the Regeneration of Africa in many different ways. Also in this context, some missionaries had a good and meaningful celebration at the graveyard of Rejaf, an old Comboni mission located near Juba.
Some Comboni Missionaries have been laid to rest there and have been remembered in a special way this year. They are Sr. Maurita Forti (died on 26.7.1950), Sr. Dirce Salvi (died on 10.3.1951), Br. Angelo Barzaghi (died on 5.4.1947) and Fr. Luigi Medici (died on 2.3.1948).
The Eucharist was presided over by the Comboni bishop Makram Grassis and took place on Monday 3 November.

The Comboni Institute encourages all members to pray over the month of November that “the Saints in Heaven may support us in our missionary service and obtain for all deceased missionaries the fullness of joy in the vision of the Father”.
